The kinds of things that distract me are usually found when I glance upwards. Towering skyscrapers and vibrant sunsets. A sudden flock of loudly honking Canadian geese. And occasionally a giant chandelier!

The idea of looking up at something suggests that it’s large. There are exceptions like the moon and the stars. To the naked eye, these appear quite small. However, their vast distance away from us belies the fact that they’re quite massive, as well.

These things tend to grab my attention long enough for me to find my iPhone and snap a photo. Then, I linger awhile and enjoy the many delightful detours that surround us everyday!
