A mind always employed is always happy. This is the true secret, the grand recipe, for felicity. ~Thomas Jefferson
Everyone works at something.
For some it’s a job in business, healthcare, education, technology, or some other large utilitarian industry. For others it’s music, art, theater, sports or entertainment. Still others devote themselves full and part-time to parenting and volunteerism. And, sadly, there are those who work at not working, although they’re certainly the minority.
The reasons to get out of bed in our modern world are as varied as the populace. We all find purpose through our productivity, regardless of what our job is. In addition to relationships and socialization, we develop our sense of self through the work we do each day.

Those people who take pride in their work are usually the top performers. That includes everyone from the janitorial staff to the C-suite. Irrespective of salary size, these are the folks who genuinely care about the quality of their work. The wisest employers are those who take notice of this and reward conscientious efforts.
