January Light Photo Challenge | Day 21

Exploration Tower in Port Canaveral, with beautiful sunset in background.

Limelight:

The center of public attention, interest, observation, or notoriety.

The Exploration Tower in Port Canaveral, Florida is a stunning architectural landmark that enjoys the limelight in the photo above, as it perches next to one of the waterways that empty into the Atlantic Ocean.

The larger waterways nearby serve as home to cargo ships and cruise lines like Carnival and, of course, Disney!

More on Exploration Tower:

It is a tourist attraction that offers fun AND education. There are seven floors of interactive exhibits & observation decks, plus a cafe and gift shop.

You can also book your special events at the tower, such as:

  • Corporate events & parties
  • Themed events
  • Gala dinners
  • Social events
  • Weddings
  • Branded events

Nearby are beaches, three parks, camping locations, multiple boating and fishing spots. There’s an abundance of things to do, which make Cape Canaveral a thriving tourist spot.

Travel one hour to the east and you’ll find Disney World, Sea World, other theme parks, and the city of Orlando, which offers a host of attractions, restaurants, and shopping.

Droplight

noun

An electric or gas lamp suspended from the ceiling or wall by a flexible cord or tube.

This beautifully ornate ceiling caught my eye while attending the theater recently. I decided to take a photo because of its unique style.

The two layers of petal-shaped panels and illuminating lights underneath extend downward and are not flush against the ceiling. Therefore, I believe that they qualify as droplights.
