The Life of B – Squares Photo Challenge – #TreeSquares

This photo was taken several years ago. At the time I was focused on autumn leaves, but it certainly fits our tree challenge!

I like how the filtering sun highlights details of the bark. And notice the avocado green of the fresh moss on the roots, whereas higher up there is something teal colored. Maybe moss that dried out? Nope, that stuff is lichen, a combination of fungus and algae. Apparently, it’s harmless along with the moss. For more info I searched green stuff on trees. 

Is there anything Google doesn’t know?  😉
