Flower of the Day | Orange Hibiscus

Cee’s Flower of the Day Photo Challenge

While not a good quality photo  😦  this is a gorgeous flower!

I spotted it while visiting a friend in West Palm Beach, FL. As a tropical flower it thrives in hot, sunny climates. They come in many colors:

  • Purple
  • Red
  • Hot Pink
  • Pink
  • Orange
  • Yellow
  • White

But, it’s the various meanings and symbolism of the Hibiscus that are so fascinating. The orange variety signifies healing and vitality.

There’s a lot of information on this beauty and it’s only one flower….so much to learn! 🙂

The Squares Challenge | Christmas in July

Life of B – Squares Photo Challenge – #TreeSquare

Some of the most magnificent palm trees I’ve ever seen are located at The Mall at Millenia in Orlando, FL. They are absolutely HUGE with gorgeous fronds!

This photo was taken a few years back while visiting family. For those of us living in cold climates, the superimposed image of majestic palm trees over a decorated Christmas tree seems like a contradiction. When you associate palm trees with summer vacation and Christmas trees with snowy landscapes they appear to be an odd couple.

But, people everywhere celebrate the birth of Christ…in boots, flip-flops, and everything in between.

I thought this shot would be a fun “Christmas in July” post for our #TreeSquare Photo Challenge. No worries though, there’s still 165 shopping days left… 😉

Flower of the Day Challenge | Mystery Flower

I’m joining Cee’s Flower of the Day Photo Challenge since I have some great shots on the camera roll.

I’m aware of the more popular ones: roses, sunflowers, lilies-of-the-valley, and a few others. However, my knowledge is limited. Therefore, I decided to identify the flower that I’m posting in an effort to learn about more types.

But, this one has me stumped. I spent some time searching online and couldn’t locate it.

Can anyone help me out?
